Dear Fear, My Heart is Not Your Home

Dear Fear, my heart is not your home.
As we approach this first launch I have felt all the waves of emotions. From excitement to feeling like the biggest imposter. All those lies about who I am or what I’m capable of slowly creep in, making a home in my heart.
It’s all rooted in one thing - fear. I’ve been pressing into this a LOT lately and trying to be faithful to what is TRUE.
Fear has a way of sneaking in quietly—especially in motherhood.
It whispers things like,
“You can’t do this.”
“You’re not enough.”
“There’s no space for your dreams anymore.”
And if we’re not careful, fear can start to feel familiar—something we just live with. It moves in and can takes up a cozy little corner in our hearts and quietly convinces us to silence the parts of us that still long to build, to create, to pursue the dreams God planted long before we held our babies.
But here’s what’s true: Motherhood is not the end of your becoming.
It’s not a detour from your calling—it’s a core part of it.
God doesn’t make mistakes. When He made you a mother, He didn’t hit pause on your purpose. He expanded it. Deepened it. Gave it new meaning.
You were created for this—both the nurturing and the creating.
Both the day-in, day-out rhythms of motherhood and the unique dreams God placed in your heart. These aren’t competing callings—they are threads of the same story He’s writing in and through you.
Yes, fear may come. It may try to convince you to shrink back or stay quiet. But you don’t have to live from that place. I’m also not saying that we can’t rid ourselves of fear, but we can choose to step into that fear- one courageous step at a time. To allow ourselves to feel it and respond with “my heart is not your home”.
So walk boldly. Create intentionally. Mother wholeheartedly.
God is in all of it. And He’s not asking you to choose between your calling to your children and the dreams that press your heart. He’s asking you to trust Him with both.
You are not called to fear, but to freedom.
For us, launching Haven has been one of those leaps. Not because we feel 100% ready or fearless, but because we feel deeply called. It’s been a journey of showing up, trusting God with what’s in my hands, and as cheesy as it sounds, choosing faith over fear, one tiny step at a time.
So if you’re sitting with a dream, a stirring, or an idea that feels a little too big or a little too scary—I hope you know you’re not alone. I hope you’ll lean in anyway. Because God meets us in the stretch. He strengthens us in the risk. And He’s so faithful to finish what He starts.
